My translating experience began by putting English captions to live-streamed Brazilian slam poems for the FLUP festival in 2020, an activity in words and rhythm that connected really nicely to my love for learning languages and eating up music. //////////////////// The BTC, Brazilian Translation Club in London, has since granted me projects translating the gripping short stories of authors in CE, RJ and SP, with a publication in Qorpus magazine, March 2021. //////////////////// I completed a BA in Spanish and Portuguese at UCL (2020, 1st), and was delighted to be a bursary recipient of the July 2021 BTSS, Bristol Translates Summer School - both courses have been strong keys to my understanding of what work in translation means, is, and can be. //////////////////// Besides playing my violin out on London's streets during the day (busking!), when back home translating I look forward to working with words in their most playful, and slightly shorter, forms.
