Robin Driver

Robin Driver is a translator from Portuguese and French, with a background in academic and journalistic translation. He worked as an in-house translator at FashionNetwork.com from 2018 to 2021 and has also contributed translations to academic research projects, such as ‘Texts and Contexts of Portuguese Orientalism: International Congresses of Orientalists (1873-1973)’, based at the University of Lisbon’s Centre for Comparative Studies. His current interests include modern and contemporary fiction and drama from Portugal and Brazil, with a focus on women’s writing and works dealing with issues of gender.

He holds a BA in English and French from the University of Oxford, an MA in Comparative Studies from the University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Portuguese Literature from the University of São Paulo. He is currently a collaborating researcher in the CNPq-funded ‘Ler Teatro e Reler o Teatro Brasileiro’ project, which is based at the Federal University of Acre.
